The Witnet grant program is a program designed to foster growth of people using Witnet in dozens of ecosystems. The beauty of the Witnet grant program is that you can build on over 18 different chains that Witnet is integrated on! You can see all the chains Witnet is integrated on here in real time.

What is the Witnet Grant Program?

It is designed to facilitate growth by offering easy access to the Witnet team, funding of your project, and access to our tight-knit community to both expand your user-base and access to resources.

The grants are specifically designed for, and exclusive to developers building smart contracts and applications on the chain integrations. Because we want to grow the use cases of the Witnet Oracle, we want to focus solely on development grants of projects that will use or are using the Witnet oracle or projects that are making the Witnet network stronger.

If you are a developer who built a project using Witnet, build on Witnet, or want to build a project where an oracle is necessary, this program is for you!

The process is a very simple one, depending on which grant you are applying for.

There are a few different types of Witnet grants.

  1. Retrograde Funding
    1. For those who have an idea on what they are going to build or are actively planning or designing their project.
    2. This will be typically in a milestone fashion as you complete your project and integrate Witnet.
  2. Retroactive Funding
    1. For those who have already built their project or it’s very close to launching.
    2. This will typically be in a lump sum, unless we agree to key performance indicators of project growth.
  3. Resource Grant
    1. The Witnet Foundation subsidizes price feeds on various chains as it can make your life easier for a while.
    2. This will typically be funding that doesn’t enter your wallet but is rather deployed directly on-chain by the Witnet Foundation itself, and there is no requirements on your end (i.e. an invoice).
  4. Milestone Basis
    1. For projects that are applying for a larger sum of money. We will fund this based on milestones you complete in the development/integration process.
  5. Lump Sum
    1. For projects asking for less money. We will fund this typically based on the completion of a project or minimum viable product.

These can be subject to change and are based loosely on this framework: these processes can change at any moment based on your product and how its development process is going. We reserve the right to change the category of your funding based on your contribution to the work being done as discussed prior to the funding.
