Welcome to Season 3 of the Witnet Advocate Program

What it is

Background and Motivation

How it Works

Typical workflow

On Monday of every week, we will release a list of tasks and challenges that can be completed by anyone in the community. These tasks will have value assigned to them, denominated in $WIT. More complicated and time intensive tasks will have a higher reward than simpler tasks. The task must be completed by Sunday of the same week (unless otherwise noted, referred to as “epic tasks”) for the reward to be paid in full.

Anyone can submit a task based on their skills and expertise. If you would like to complete a task that isn’t on the list, we are more than happy to help support you.

Additionally, for many tasks, two or more people can be completing them at the same time (unless otherwise noted, in which case it will be first come first serve based on who submits it first.

Completed tasks must be submitted via this form by Sunday in order to be considered to receive compensation. The task will be reviewed against our community guidelines and task quality standards by the Witnet Foundation and OtherPlane Labs which have the ultimate decision on whether a task is qualified for the reward. In other words, we’re striving for quality over quantity and he reserve the right to deny funding you if your task doesn’t meet our standards.

How to choose a task

The task list will always be below the information on this landing page and updated weekly, if needed. Many tasks will roll over from week-to-week because they can be completed multiple times. We will internally keep a list of the final product for each task to ensure there is no duplicates and this can’t be abused. All you need to do is simply choose a task you want to complete and send the final product via Telegram or Discord by Sunday of that week. The task will have all the necessary information you’d need to receive the reward, like the final product requirements; some tasks might require you to send us a link of a Tweet thread you created, or a graphic- it depends on the nature of the task. Tasks will also include resources that could be helpful.

A task can be completed by multiple people at once. So long as the quality is high, we will reward all completed tasks. If you work on one task with another people or group of people, the reward will be split amongst the group evenly.

You can also complete multiple tasks in one week, but we are limiting it to only 2 in the early stages of the program to ensure we can grow the program effectively. If you submit more than 2 tasks in one week we will only reward the first 2 that are submitted.

Finally, you can also create your own task for a reward. If there is not a task on the master list that is of interest, please reach out on Telegram here with your idea and we will discuss the reward that can be attached to it.

Epic Tasks

Some tasks are denoted as “Epic Tasks” and are typically designed for more developer-focused individuals. These tasks can be completed over a longer period of time and can include things like developing a block explorer or developing a tipping bot.

Rewards

Tasks are compensated with the base reward that is attached to it in the master list. If a task is completed and up to the standards of the program, we will award the full amount. Some tasks will also carry an engagement reward that will be paid out for various levels of engagement types. The reward will be paid on the Monday after you have submitted your task. Super Advocates will gain access to a reward multiplier that allows them to earn bonus rewards for every completed task.

Please keep in mind that this is an early rendition of this program. We expect changes to be made to the workflow, submission process, and reward system
